Hey Ry! I am currently reading a book called "!Gracias!" diary of Henri Nouwen. It's written by an american who serving in mission work all over latin america. It's basically his journal while he was there and what he was thinking while he was there. But there's some amazing quotes that you may like to hear while you are working in india:

- pg 16 "True liberation is freeing people from the bonds that have prevented them from giving their gifts to others...It is hard for me to accept that the best I can do is probably not to give but to receive.By receiveing in a true and open way, those who give to me can become aware of their own gifts. After all, we come to recognize our own gifts in the eyes of those who receive them gratefully. Gratitude thus becomes the central virtue of a missionary."

- pg 17 "Many people who suddenly find themselves in a totally unfamiliar milieu decide quickly to label that which is strange to them instead of confronting their own fears and vulnerabilities. But we can also use the new opportunity [being in india or south africa - in a strange place] for our own healing [and growth]."

- pg 18 "...what i have to offer is not my intelligence, skill, power, [wealthy background], influence, or connections, but my own human brokenness through which the love of God can manifest itself."

This journal is like 16 years old or something but I think it is still very relevant. Let me know if you enjoyed these quotes! I miss you Ryan! I am praying for you!

Hey Kelley! Makes the world pretty small 10,000 miles away when we can get on the blog.. we are having a blast and India is the most amazing place with incredible ministry everywhere we go. VBS has been an incredible experience with almost 400 orphans that we'd like to adopt and bring home. The people in India are the most gracious, beautiful people and we are so blessed to be here!
We really miss you guys and can't believe you guys were all so sick...glad it missed us before we left! Hope you're feeling better and we can't wait to see you! We love you so much. See you in a couple of days. Mom & Dad

So awsome that you got to play and sing Ry, it does not matter about the language barrier it is something about praising the Lord that makes is all ok. SO is it the same in your house does Danielle have the "real Power" ha ha. I will continue to pray for you all. Danielle said the curry really is not her favorite. Love you Mom

Hey Dad & Mom!

Looks like you are having an amazing time over there already! It is truly amazing to see how God is working through you guys to touch the lives of so many people! You guys are a light in such darkness! The entire family, except for Conner, caught what I had (and by everyone I mean Robbie, Rick, Miriam, Lizzie and Jacey) but at least it was only a 24 hour thing so we are all on the road to recovery! Conner got his top left tooth and it looks so funny! =) He is also pulling himself up on just about everything in sight!! Just thought I would catch you up a little bit! You are in our prayers daily!

Wow this is mind boggling to see! It's an amazing thing what they are doing there with these untouchable people and to see that army of nurses in training is such a blessing! It is so foreign to have Christianity thought of as the religion of the poor people. But blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom (riches) of heaven. We'll keep watching the blog and thanks for bringing that part of the world closer! Dad
